In Fundación Televisa we are aware that the housing problem in Mexico requires immediate attention, since having a safe and adequate house undoubtedly improves the life conditions of those who inhabit it, and therefore procures a safe environment that reinforces integrity, and promotes family union.
Goals for Mexico (Housing)
Objectives:
So that with the passing day more Mexicans enjoy the benefits of having an adequate living space, optimizing their quality of life and their possibilities to prosper, we help low income families whose income oscillate between 2 and 4 minimal wages –reason for which they are not subject to credit neither with banks or governmental institutions- giving them the necessary financing.
How we help:
The program helps one family every year, one of the detonators for allocating this assistance is the Goals for Mexico Program, for each goal scored by the Football Clubs Toluca, San Luis, Queretaro, Atlante, Cruz Azul and the National Team a family receives the financing necessary to purchase a house with the following characteristics:
-542 m2
.Two bedrooms
-Kitchen
-Dinning and Living Room
-Bathroom
-Service area
This is done with the help of Fundacion ARA, Fideicomiso Provivah, GNP and the families themselves.
- Fundacion Televisa and GNP grant the recourses
- -Fundacion ARA and Fideicomiso Provivah grant recourses, select the families and supervise the project.
- -The families participate with their labor
Results:
“Alliances that Build” is the housing program developed in conjunction with Fideicomiso ProVivah and Fundacion ARA A.C. In 2008 Sabritas sponsored the construction of 1,000 houses, in addition to their help in “Goals for Mexico” and “Voices with a Cause”.
Thanks to the 166 goals scored in 2008, 166 houses were built for families in different states of Mexico.
