Our Mission:

Enhancing development opportunities for as many people as possible: This is Fundación Televisa's mission, every day, 365 days a year. We achieve our goal to enrich people’s life, and meet the compromise to invest in our human capital through two streams: the social and the cultural.

In the social, we focus on education, health and nutrition for children and young adults. They represent Mexico’s future, and we will only have a better future as so far as we have better educated, healthier and better nourished Mexicans. In addition, we have housing programs, and we are involved with the Televisa Verde initiative on care for the environment. There are no short cuts towards a better Mexico; we will only achieve this through the improvement of our children’s and young people’s education, promoting the formation of a generation that is better than ours.

We complement these actions with high impact media campaigns that emphasize values, such as dignity, respect, citizen participation, unity, family, forgiveness, perseverance, honesty, generosity and responsibility. This campaigns aim to fight not only the consequences, but the causes of many of the problems ailing our society.

The work we develop on the cultural endeavor is directed, as is the social, towards helping improve people’s life and broadening their horizons. We have given Fundación Televisa's art collections a very wide exposure, both in Mexico and abroad. We also strive to make art more accessible to a broader number of people, among other ways, through the sponsorship of many music, visual and scenic arts events; additionally we are involved in editorial projects of great relevance. The Foundation also informs the public of the most transcendent cultural events in the annual calendar.

Having said this, what makes our actions relevant are two main factors: the first is that, given that the Foundation belongs to a media company as important as Televisa, we have the capacity of impacting a broad social spectrum. Through this, our intent to generate human capital is translated into the creation of social capital. Secondly, there is not one program, either social or cultural, where we have not partnered with companies, foundations, the federal or state governments, TV viewers and the public in general. This strategy multiplies the impact of our work and creates networks for future projects. For this, we want to thank profoundly all of our colleges in Televisa, who help us achieve and enhance the Foundations efforts, as well as our innumerable allies without whom we would be much less than what we are.

Because we have to do something
