Run for the education

In Fundacion Televisa we know that reading is one of the most important ways to continuously increase and enrich the knowledge and to sensitize our kids and young people. the reading of the proper books helps to strengthen the classroom education; stimulates the imagination and curiosity; offers information of the different ways of thinking of the world, not just in the present but also throughout the human history; and contributes to a proper intelligence development and intellectual capacity.
Objectives:
In Fundacion Televisa we are concerned that kids and young people have a complete and quality education. For this we design different projects that complement and enrich their education. In this sense we think that reading is one of the direct ways to obtain knowledge in a pleasant way, what helps them complement and reassert the education received directly from school. For this we facilitate and promote not only the reading but also the consultation of encyclopedias, dictionaries, manuals, etc, by giving the material to public elementary and junior high schools libraries.
How do we help:
The program includes in donating a school library to one public elementary school for each run scored in the Mexican baseball league championship series. This is made through the sponsorship of Fundacion Televisa, Televisa Deportes and the Mexican Baseball League.
Results:
The run for education program was carried out for the second consecutive year, in which for each run scored in the final series games of the Mexican Baseball league a school library was donated to an elementary school.
