In Fundación Televisa, conscious of the importance of offering more and better education recourses for our children and young adults, we work to increase the quality of education in Mexico, bringing technology (computers and Internet), pedagogical material, and training for teachers to public primary and junior high schools.

 

Program Objectives:
We are clear that in our country there is still a very wide gap in education opportunities, not only in regards to the possibility of receiving quality education but also in regards to the technological advances requires for the docent activity to be more in accordance to our time. Taking into consideration the need to shorten distances in this respect, we try to contribute to the increase education levels and equality of opportunities for students and teachers in the basic and middle school public system.

 

How we help:
The program assignees, for each goal scored by the Football Club America, a media school room to a basic or middle public school. This is made possible through the sponsorship of Fundación Televisa, Televise Deportes, GNP, La Unión de Empresarios para la Tecnología en la Educación (Businessmen  Union for Technology in Education)(Unete A.C.), the federal government, the schools benefited and the families.


- Fundación Televisa, Televisa Deportes and GNP contribute with the resources needed to acquire the computers.


- The federal government, through the Instituto Latino Americano de Comunicación Educativo (Latin-American Educational Communication Institute) (ILCE) gives each of the schools in the Edusat system (Educational Television) a video library (80 educational videos), educational compact discs (20) and training for the teachers. They are also in charge of the development and supervision of the pedagogical technical model (School web)


- Unete A.C. operates the program and makes sure it achieves the desired results.


- The state governments contribute with the installation of telephone lines and replace the computers after five years of use.


- The schools and parents fit out the school rooms fix the furniture and pay the internet fee.


- HP-Compaq donated 1000 computers.


- Fundación Sabritas A.C. helped with the equipment of 20 media class rooms

 

Results:

Since 2001, 2,193 media class rooms and 1,416 with Internet connection have been equiped in benefit of 1,587,000 students.
