In Fundación Televisa we support education and improvement for Mexico’s childhood, helping them be part of high level formative events, which allows them to broaden their knowledge and abilities, and promotes in them a healthy sense of competition.

Objectives:
In Fundación Televisa we strive to stimulate the formation of the young adults that have stood out in their studies of Geography, Science of the Earth and other similar subjects by sponsoring their participation at the Mexican Geography Olympic Games. Through this process we select the best students in our country, with the intent of integrating competitive teams that represent Mexico at international competitions.

How we help:
In collaboration with the Instituto Nacional de Geografía, Estadistica e Informatica (National Institute of Geography, Statistics and Informatics) (INEGI), National Geographic in Spanish and the Academia Mexicana de Ciencia (Mexican Academy of Science), we organize a nation wide competition with 5 regional stages where the semifinalists are selected, up till the grand finale which is aired through Televisas children’s programming.

Results:
The Mexican Geography Olympic Games has been healed since 2003, with 594,000 participants from 2003 to 2008.

In 2007 the Mexican team that took part in the World Championship organized by National Geographic won the first place and in 2008 the mexican team won the silver medal.

On its second edition the Mexican History Olympic Game 2008 conveyed 54,000 students, from 13 states in the country, motivating our youth to study this discipline.
